(Also Psalm 3:3)

Prayer: Father, in Jesus Name, by faith, I claim Your promise to be my shield & protector.

Scripture: (The mind is satans’ playground. The battle to WIN your mind is in vs. 5)
2 CORINTHIANS 10:3-5 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments & every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” (NKJV)

Prayer: In the Mighty Name of Jesus, I command my thoughts to come under the obedience & captivity to Jesus Christ as it is written in 2 Corinthians 10:5.

Scripture: MATTHEW 16:19 “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (NKJV) (See also Matthew 18:18)

Prayer: In the Name of Jesus, the Name that is above every name & ALL things (Philippians 2:9, 10 & Ephesians 1:20-23), I bind up every unclean spirit & assignment coming against me, (my children & family) from, by or through anyone or anything, named or unnamed, known or unknown, 7 generations back. In the Name of Jesus, I bind up the principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness & hosts in high places, & the prince of power of the air. In Jesus Name, I bind up the strongman, the old man, every prince & stronghold, the spirit of antichrist, every evil spirit & plague, the spirit of confusion, illusion & delusion. In Jesus Name, I bind up the spirit of infirmity, sickness, disease, pain, addiction, affliction, calamity, the devourer, the destroyer, the accuser, the deceiver, the corrupter & every spirit of poverty. In the Name of Jesus, I bind up the spirit of strife & division, back biting & gossip, critical & judgemental spirits, spirits of resistance & hindrance, every spirit of retribution, revenge & retaliation, & the lying, seducing, deceiving spirit of deception (1 Timothy 4:1, 2). In the Name of Jesus, I bind up every root of fear, doubt, unbelief, discouragement & every deadly ‘D’ from despair to depression, the spirit of pride, rebellion, disobedience, self, ego, independence, unforgiveness, bitterness, lust & the flesh.

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST REBUKE YOU, YOU EVIL, UNCLEAN SPIRITS. (Jude 9, Zechariah 3:2) I loose, in the Name of Jesus Christ, deliverance, freedom & liberation, peace, joy, hope, gladness of heart, love, healing & wholeness, mercy & grace, blessings & favor, restoration of the years that the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25), the resurrection power of Jesus Christ, a mighty harvest, and a boldness to witness for Christ. Amen and Amen!!

ALWAYS REMEMBER, God hears ALL our cries and prayers (Psalm 34:4, 6, 15, 17). His thoughts about us number more than the sands of the sea (Psalm 139:17, 18), He loves us with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3 & John 3:16). His promises are Yes & Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20). We know that satan’s a liar but God has never lied nor broken a promise or covenant (Hebrews 6:18, Numbers 23:19, Titus 1:2). He is the God of the second chance to infinity. Nothing is too hard (Jeremiah 32:17, Genesis 18:14), nor impossible for Him (Luke 1:37). With man it is impossible, but with God, ALL things are possible (Matthew 19:26, Mark 10:27). He is faithful (Psalm 89, Heb. 10:23), His Word does not return void (Isaiah 55:11, 12), He magnifies His Word above His Name (Psalm 138:2) & His Word is settled in Heaven forever (Psalm 119:89). We need to trust Him & His Word, no matter what trials or tribulations we are facing, whatever mountain, valley, desert, storm or goliath that is in our life. TRUST HIM! Nahum 1:7 tells us, “God is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble & He knows those who trust Him.” He tells us we have worth & value in His eyes (Jeremiah 29:11-13), He is our helper (Hebrews 13:6) who has compassion, mercy and grace for each of us. Gods’ forgiveness is bigger than my sin. If I confess my sins, God is faithful and just to forgive me of my sins and cleanse me of ALL unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Once I confess and repent, God remembers them no more (Psalm 103:12). They are put in the sea of forgetfulness (Micah 7:19). They are under the BLOOD of JESUS, and we are set FREE, with no condemnation (Romans 8:1), especially from ourselves. We must learn to forgive ourselves. Praise and Worship must be included in our prayers. We have the VICTORY!

There Was War In Heaven

After the sixth trumpet, God sends his last two witnesses. They have authority for three and a half years and in Revelation 11:6 “they have authority over the waters, to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with every plague as often as they wish”. When they are killed, the people of the world celebrate, but after three and a half days, the “the breath of life from God entered into them” and they are called to heaven and ascend in front of all. But here there is a different response, “the rest became terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven”. Then comes the declaration in Revelation 11:15-18 “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever”. Then we find another declaration “the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down” and in Revelation 12:11 And they conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives until death.

My Two Witnesses

Revelation 11:1–6
The temple must have been restored and be in operation here where it says in Revelation 11:1 “Get up and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship in it”. There is concern for the temple, for the place, but even more, those that worship.

But this is not the Church. It is not us as Christians, it is the Jews in their home, Israel “God’s elect are symbolized by the sanctuary at Jerusalem (1 Co 3:16, 17, where the same Greek word, “naos,” occurs for “temple,” as here). Literal Israel in Jerusalem, and with the temple restored (Ez 40:3, 5, where also the temple is measured with the measuring reed”1.

Then Revelation 11:2 says “leave out the courtyard … the gentiles … will trample”. There is a key point here, the unbelieving gentile world will continue to be driven but there is one more thing God has planned, in Revelation 11:3-6 “I will grant authority to my two witnesses”. This time of 1260 days is the same as the 42 months in vs. 2 which is also three and a half years using the Jewish 360 day year (see also Daniel 7:25).

No one will be able to stop or stand against these witnesses during this time and they have great authority, not just in Jerusalem, but “to strike the earth”, so across the world in

Revelation 11:6 These have the authority to shut the sky, so that it does not rain during the days of their prophecy. And they have authority over the waters, to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with every plague as often as they wish.

When They Have Completed Their Testimony

Revelation 11:7–14
“The beast … will kill them” in Revelation 11:7. And in Revelation 11:9-10 “those who live on the earth will rejoice”, this is a public spectacle and the world is rejoicing in Revelation 11: 10 “because these two prophets tormented those who live on the earth”.

But after three and a half days, their bodies lying in the street, in

Revelation 11:11-12 “the breath of life from God entered into them … And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here,” and they went up into heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them”.

Then there is a great earthquake in Revelation 11:13 “and seven thousand people were killed by the earthquake, and the rest became terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven”. There is a different response here, they gave glory to God. This may be the great awakening of the Jewish people that are living in Israel. As the previous judgments occurred, for example, in Revelation 9:20-21 “the rest of humanity … did not repent”.

“Their conversion forms a blessed contrast to Rev 16:9; and above, Rev 9:20, 21. These repenting (Zec 12:10–14; 13:1), become in the flesh the loyal subjects of Christ reigning over the earth with His transfigured saints2.

In Revelation 11:14 “the second woe has passed”.

The Kingdom of Our Lord

Revelation 11:15–19
The seventh trumpet sounds followed by a declaration in Revelation 11:15-18 “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever.” and this is followed in Revelation 11:16-18 by a confirming declaration. Then in Revelation 11:19 “the temple of God in heaven is opened”.

A Great Sign Appeared in Heaven

Revelation 12:1–6
This switches the focus from Jerusalem and begins a description of persecution of the church in connection with this period of 1260 days that we find mentioned again in Revelation 12:6. During this time, “the woman designates universally the kingdom of God; the beast, the kingdom of the world. The woman of whom Jesus was born represents the Old Testament congregation of God … As new Jerusalem (called also “the woman,” or “wife,” Rev 21:2, 9–12), with its twelve gates, is the exalted and transfigured Church”3.

There Was War In Heaven

Revelation 12:7–12
In Revelation 12:7-9 “the great dragon was thrown down”. and we find another declaration from heaven in Revelation 12:10-12 “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come”. But it goes on to say, “because the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down” and makes this declaration,

Revelation 12:11 And they conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives until death.

Our part as Christians in this generation and until Christ returns is to declare the blood and maintain our testimony as it says in Romans 8:31-39

The Dragon Was Angry

Revelation 12:13–18
In Revelation 12:13-18 the dragon is not able to destroy the church and in Revelation 12:17 the focus of the fight turns to “the rest of her children, those who keep the commandments of God and who hold to the testimony about Jesus” which is us as believers.

Coming Up Out of the Sea

Revelation 13:1–10
The people of the world will be looking for answers and “out of the troubled waves of peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues”4 will rise a ruling power, and in Revelation 13:5 “and authority to act was given to him for forty-two months”. And the dragon, in Revelation 13:2 “gave it his power and his throne and great authority” and in

Revelation 13:7-8 And it was given to him to make war with the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given to him over every tribe and people and language and nation. 8 And all those who live on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name is not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slaughtered.

Coming Up From The Earth

Revelation 13:11–18
In Revelation 13:11 “another beast”, and this beast comes “out of society civilized, consolidated, and ordered, but still, with all its culture, of earth earthy”5.

This beast in Revelation 13:12 “exercises all the authority of the first beast”. And in Revelation 13:14 “he deceives those who live on the earth”. And in Revelation 13:15-16 “caused that all those, unless they worshiped the image of the beast, should be killed. And he causes all people, … that they give them a mark”.

The Lamb Standing On Mount Zion

Revelation 14:1–5
This is the end of the time of grace. All who will, have come. Now, in Revelation 14:1 Jesus stands with those that had been sealed earlier “having left His position “in the midst of the throne,” and now taking His stand on Sion”6.

Silence in Heaven

All of heaven goes silent as the seventh and last seal is opened. What is in the book? What is God’s judgement on the earth? It begins with the offering of the prayers of the saints. God is listening. Then comes the first trumpet and hail and fire consuming a third of the trees and all grass. Then the second trumpet and the sea turns to blood and a third of the living creatures and a third of the ships are gone. Time is passing, we can’t be sure how much from these passages, but before the seventh trumpet, John must prophesy.

Silence in Heaven

Revelation 8:1–5
Here in Revelation 8:1 “when he opened the seventh seal” all of heaven anticipated knowing the contents of the book. And we have not yet come to Revelation 12:7-9, the “war in heaven”.

This anticipation began when the book was presented in Revelation 5:2–3 (LEB) And I saw a powerful angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to break its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it.

In Revelation 8:2 “seven trumpets were given” but they are held in preparation until in Revelation 8:3, “the prayers of the saints” were offered.

Some believe that everything God does is according to his will, and I need to be very careful with my words here, God does know His own mind and doesn’t need us to inform him of anything. He does though, say, in Isaiah 1:18 (LEB) “Come now, and let us argue,” says Yahweh. “Even though your sins are like scarlet, they will be white like snow; even though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. Or, in the King James, it says, “let us reason together”. God hears our prayers. It also says in Hebrews 4:16, because Jesus is our high priest, “Therefore let us approach with confidence to the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

So what is it that is in the vials (see Revelation 5:8), what are the prayers of the saints? How about these as examples, certainly there is praise and thanksgiving, certainly there have been many requests for intervention as Gods people have been threatened, and killed and there are many boundaries that have been set in prayer and agreement before God. And, finally, God does not forget the “distressed cry of the afflicted”.

Hebrews 13:15 (LEB) Therefore through him let us offer up a sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.

Acts 4:29–30 (LEB) And now, Lord, concern yourself with their threats and grant your slaves to speak your message with all boldness, 30 as you extend your hand to heal and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

Matthew 18:18–20 (LEB) “Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will be released in heaven. 19 Again, truly I say to you that if two of you agree on earth about any matter that they ask, it will be done for them from my Father who is in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Psalm 9:10–12 (LEB) And those who know your name will trust in you, for you do not forsake those who seek you, O Yahweh. 11 Sing praises to Yahweh who sits enthroned in Zion. Tell his deeds among the peoples, 12 for he who avenges bloodshed remembers them. He does not forget the distressed cry of the afflicted.

The Seven Trumpets

Revelation 8:6–9
As these trumpets are blown, it seems there is no sound in the earth, but there is the release of devastation.

First, in Revelation 8:6 there is “hail and fire mixed with blood” and in Revelation 8:7 “a third of the trees were burned up and all of the grass”. This green vegetation cleanses the air of carbon dioxide and refreshes it with oxygen. Living trees hold this carbon dioxide “greenhouse gas” and release it when they die and decompose. This would not only affect breathable air quality, but climate and weather.

Second, there is, in Revelation 8:8-9 “a great mountain burning with fire thrown into the sea” and “the sea became blood” and “a third of the creatures … died” and “a third of the ships were destroyed”. Anything coming out of the sea might be contaminated. The sea is not just a major food source “16% of total global animal protein. (also) Coastal areas within 100 km of the ocean account for an estimated 61 percent of the world’s total Gross National Product (GNP) and are of particular importance for developing countries.” according to The World Bank. And if a third of the ships are destroyed, commerce is significantly reduced, our global economy straining if not collapsed.

A Great Star Burning

Revelation 8:10–13
Third, fresh water is affected, in Revelation 8:10-11 “a third of the waters became wormwood” and we cannot live long without clean fresh water “and many people died”. This is as described in

Jeremiah 23:15 (LEB) Therefore thus says Yahweh of hosts concerning the prophets: “Look, I am going to let them eat wormwood and I will give them water of poison to drink, for from the prophets of Jerusalem went out ungodliness to all the land.”

Fourth, in Revelation 8:12, “a third of them (sun, moon, and stars) were darkened”. Which would cause temperatures to drop and a slowing of growth of vegetation.

This is written as if it already happened, God does know the end from the beginning.

The First Woe

Revelation 9:1–12
Fifth, in Revelation 9:3 “locusts came to the earth … like scorpions”. Then in Revelation 9:4 “they should not damage … any green plant” so the cycle of seed time and harvest is not destroyed.

Genesis 8:22 (LEB) As long as the earth endures, seed and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will not cease.

But, these locusts, in Revelation 9:5 “should not kill them, but that they would be tormented five months, and their torment is like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a person”. And in Revelation 9:6 “people will seek death and will never find it”. It seems that all of the conditions are right for people to die, trouble with water, trouble with commerce and food supply, the sting of the locust, yet they live on. And for how long? Since the sting of the locust is five months, it is certainly longer than that, years? In Revelation 9:12 it says “two woes are still coming”.

But it is not in these times that people are saved, as it says in

1 Timothy 2:1–4 (LEB) Therefore, I urge first of all that petitions, prayers, requests, and thanksgiving be made on behalf of all people, 2 on behalf of kings and all those who are in authority, in order that we may live a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable before God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Psalm 128:1–2 (LEB) Blessed is everyone who fears Yahweh, who walks in his ways. 2 You will indeed eat of the labor of your hands; you will be happy and it will be well with you.

Romans 2:4 (LEB) Or do you despise the wealth of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

Release the Four Angels

Revelation 9:13–21
Sixth, in Revelation 9:13 “release the four angels” and the result is in Revelation 9:16 “the troops of the cavalry was two hundred million” and in Revelation 9:18 “a third of humanity was killed”. Then in Revelation 9:20 “and the rest of humanity that were not killed … did not repent” and in Revelation 9:21 “and they did not repent … ” as it was in Daniel 5:23.

There Will Be No More Delay

Revelation 10:1–6
We often see angels that look like men, this angel in Revelation 10:1-6 seems to be great in size and strength. There is something sealed, that was spoken in Revelation 10:4, not everything has been revealed yet. Though most of this is written as if it already happened, this will be held to the end.

It is easy for us to read through these chapters in a few hours or a few day, but this has unfolded over a long period of time. Now, in Revelation 10:6, this angel declares “no more delay”.

It Is Necessary for You to Prophesy

Revelation 10:7–11
Even though, “no more delay” has been declared, the seventh trumpet doesn’t come until Revelation 11:15.

John is told, in Revelation 10:8-11 to “take and eat it (the scroll) up … it is necessary for you to prophesy again” as it was in Ezek 2:9–3:4. There is a further testimony coming before the second woe is finished.

You Are Worthy

God has the book with judgement for the earth and all of heaven looks on. Who can open the seals and execute these judgments? There is only one that is qualified, only one that is capable, Jesus, the Lamb that was slain, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the risen king. He is the one that redeemed “from every tribe and language and people and nation” that we can be a nation of priests to God. And as the seals are opened, we find a great host in their white robes, the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. Then silence in heaven, the seventh seal?

A Throne Was Set in Heaven

Revelation 4:1–11
In Revelation 4:1 John gets an invitation, “an open door in heaven … Come up here and I will show you”. Many people think God is far away, somehow holding us back and separate from himself, but here is who God is. He says Come. And there He is on the throne. Then by the description, we understand the awesome greatness and power of God. But this isn’t a fearsome dread, it is an awestruck wonder at His magnificent splendor. An expanse of smooth, “something like a sea of glass, like crystal stretched out in front of the throne. Then living creatures in service around the throne, and elders around the throne, John must have been there a while because he says in Revelation 4:8 “they do not rest day and night”.

Who Is Worthy?

Revelation 5:1–7
In Revelation 5:1 John’s attention changes from the grandeur of heaven and of God himself as the centerpiece, to focus on the scroll. And as he does, the angel cries out in Revelation 5:2 “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to break its seals?” There wasn’t anyone to open it in Revelation 5:3 and John began to weep in Revelation 5:4 because he sensed its importance. Then in Revelation 5:5 “one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! Behold, the lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals”. John sees him in Revelation 5:6 and he takes the scroll in Revelation 5:7. Even though John was just learning about what was happening, those in heaven knew what was going on. All of heaven was aware, only Jesus, the lamb, could take this book, the judgement of God, and open it.

You Are Worthy

Revelation 5:8–14
All of heaven responds as “the Lamb” has the book, the scroll. It begins with the four living creatures and the twenty four elders. And the elders are keepers of the prayers of the saints, with them, always in the presence of God. And they sang and recounted the work that Jesus performed in Revelation 5:9 “You are worthy to take the book and to open its seals because” and then the redeemed, the people “from every tribe and language and people and nation” and then they prophecy of “a kingdom and priests” that will reign on the earth. Now the angels join in and echo the message confirming in Revelation 5:12 “Worthy is the Lamb”.

I Watched When The Lamb Opened

Revelation 6:1–8
With the first seal in Revelation 6:1-2 one on a white horse with a crown and a bow, “He Went Out Conquering”. Then the second seal was opened in Revelation 6:3-4 a fiery red horse and one with a large sword “to take peace from the earth, and that they would slaughter one another”. The third seal is opened in Revelation 6:5-6 and a black horse with one that had a balance in this hand measuring out the cost of grain, representing “partial hardship rather than total famine, the situation described is at least one of great economic difficulty and inequality”1.

Now, the fourth seal, in Revelation 6:7-8 is “a pale green horse, and the one seated on it was named Death, and Hades followed … authority was granted to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill”.

How Long Holy and True Lord

Revelation 6:9–17
When the fifth seal in opened in Revelation 6:9-11 it doesn’t at first seem to be a judgement or tribulation on the earth. This is the cry of the saints that have been martyred. This is the cry of their blood for judgement. Then in Revelation 6:11 “to each one of them a white robe was given, and it was said to them that they should rest yet a short time” until their number was fulfilled.

The sixth seal is opened in Revelation 6:12-14 “and a great earthquake … the sun became black … the moon became like blood … the stars of heaven fell … the sky was split apart … every mountain and island were moved”. And at this event, God has everyone’s attention. In Revelation 6:15-17 “And the kings of the earth, and the most important people, and the military leaders, and the rich, and the powerful, and every slave and free person hid themselves”.

I Saw Four Angels Standing

Revelation 7:1–8
Here in Revelation 7:1 everything stops for a time and we see the “four angels at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds, so that no wind could blow. Then, in Revelation 7:2 “another angel descending” with authority over the four saying wait until the servant of God are sealed. And in Revelation 7:4-8 this is done, twelve thousand from each tribe, 144,000.

From Every Nation and Tribe and People

Revelation 7:9–17
Suddenly in Revelation 7:9-10 “a great crowd … crying out with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Then the rest of heaven joins in Revelation 7:11-12. Now one of the elders asks in Revelation 7:13-17 “Who are they … These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation”. Even the elders were not expecting this crowd, but for them there is no more hunger, no more thirst, no more sorrow.

To the Angel of the Church Write

In Revelation Chapters 2 and 3 we find a specific message written to each of the seven churches in Asia. In each message, the Lord is addressed differently. For example, to Ephesus he is “the one who walks in the midst” but to Pergamum he is “the one who has the double-edged sword”. And it seems the condition of each church is reflected in the nature of Jesus as he is described to them. For example, the warning to Ephesus is “I will remove your lampstand” but for Pergamum it is “I will make war with them with the sword from my mouth”. For those in Ephesus, it is in their power to change. But to Smyrna, he says “the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and you will experience affliction ten days” then simply says “be faithful till death”. It seems that this is not in their control and we find phrases like “the synagogue of satan”, “the throne of satan”, “where satan lives”. Yet, even in the face of these phrases, throughout the New Testament we find

Acts 9:31 (LEB) Then the church throughout all of Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being strengthened. And living in the fear of the Lord and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it was increasing in numbers.

Acts 13:49 (LEB) So the word of the Lord was carried through the whole region.

Acts 16:5 (LEB) So the churches were being strengthened in the faith and were growing in number every day.

Acts 19:20 (LEB) In this way the word of the Lord was growing in power and was prevailing.

Ephesians 6:18 (LEB) with all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the Spirit, and to this end being alert with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

The Church in Ephesus

Revelation 2:1–7 LEB
The introduction in Revelation 2:1 says “This is what the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand says, the one who walks in the midst of the seven gold lampstands”. Jesus is seeing them, not just in their own circumstance, but as one of many churches. None of their works matter if they aren’t putting their love for him first.

The Good: Revelation 2:2-3,6 “I know your works, and labor, and patient endurance” and cannot tolerate evil, and found false apostles and have not become weary, “and “you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans”.

The Bad: Revelation 2:4-5 “you have left your first love”.

The Warning: Revelation 2:5 “I will remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent”.

The Promise: Revelation 2:7 “To the one who conquers, I will grant to him to eat from the tree of life which is in the paradise of God”.

The Church of Smyrna

Revelation 2:8–11
The introduction in Revelation 2:8 is from the one “who was dead and came to life” because some of these were going to be put to death and it was all out of their control. They are simply told, “do not be afraid”.

The Good: Revelation 2:9 “I know your affliction and poverty and the slander”.

The Bad: Revelation 2:10 “some of you … will experience affliction”.

The Warning: Revelation 2:10 “Be faithful until death”.

The Promise: Revelation 2:10 “I will give you the crown of life”. Revelation 2:11 “The one who conquers will never be harmed by the second death”.

The Church of Pergamum

Revelation 2:12–17
The introduction in Revelation 2:12 is from “the one who has the double-edged sword”. And this church is “were satan lives” so they have no control over the death of “Antipas”. They can though, choose to set aside the wrong teaching and those that do, will receive a personal and private commendation from Jesus, anew name that no one else knows.

The Good: Revelation 2:13 “I know where you live, where the throne of satan is. And you hold fast to my name”.

The Bad: Revelation 2:14-15 “you have there those who hold fast to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to eat food sacrificed to idols and to commit sexual immorality. 15 So likewise you also have those who hold fast to the teaching of the Nicolaitans”.

The Warning: Revelation 2:16 “I will make war with them with the sword from my mouth”.

The Promise: Revelation 2:17 “To the one who conquers I will give to him some of the hidden manna, and I will give to him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, that no one knows except the one who receives it”.

The Church in Thyatira

Revelation 2:18–29
The introduction in Revelation 2:18 is from “the one who has his eyes like a fiery flame and his feet like fine bronze”. Even though this church has great works, they are influenced by Jezebel. They can choose to “hold fast” against Jezebel and need to because it is an enticing spirit and as it says in Revelation 2:24 “all those who do not hold this teaching, who have not known the deep things of Satan, as they say, I do not put upon you any other burden”.

The Good: Revelation 2:19 “I know your works, and your love, and faith, and service, and patient endurance—and your last works are greater than the first”.

The Bad: Revelation 2:20-23 “you tolerate the woman Jezebel, the one who calls herself a prophetess, and teaches and deceives”.

The Warning: Revelation 2:23 “I will kill her children with deadly disease”.

The Promise: Revelation 2:26-28 “the one who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, I will give him authority over the nations, 27 and “he will shepherd them with an iron rod; he will break them in pieces like jars made of clay,” 28 as I also have received from my Father, and I will give him the morning star”.

The Eternal Covenant

As this message in Hebrews closes, we are reminded of our actions: to be hospitable, to remember those in prison, to honor marriage, to “imitate their (our leaders) faith”. Then a few more things at the conclusion, Hebrews 13:15-19 to “offer up … the fruit of our lips that confess his name”, “do not neglect doing good and generosity”, “obey your leaders … so they can do this (keep watch over your souls) with joy”, and “pray for us … to conduct ourselves commendably in every way” and these are all good instruction.

But tucked in the middle in Hebrews 13:9 there is this statement, “Do not be carried away by various and strange teachings … which those who participate have not benefited”. The world is full of ideas. There are a lot of things that people believe and say, but not all of them have any value for your life. Don’t waste your time on those things that can’t and won’t help you.

The Eternal Covenant

Hebrews 13:20–25
It is “the God of peace” in Hebrews 13:20 that “brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus” who will, in Hebrews 13:21 “equip you with every good thing to do his will, carrying out in us what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ”. This message concludes with “bear with my word of exhortation”, take hold of it, let it encourage you so that you rise up and fulfill all that God has planned for you.

The City of the Living God

Hebrews 12:22–29
There isn’t any better way to describe this, or any words I have to expound. This is our place, our family, our kingdom.

Hebrews 12:22–24 (LEB) But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, and to tens of thousands of angels, to the festal gathering 23 and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous people made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks better than Abel’s does.

What once cried out from the earth for justice, the blood of Abel, has been silenced. Now, we have the blood of forgiveness that rings out our freedom. But there is a warning, everything that can be shaken, will be. And not just shaken, but removed as it says in Hebrews 12:28. And not just on earth, but also in heaven. He (Jesus) has for us an unshakeable, enduring, kingdom.

The Lord is My Helper

Hebrews 13:1–9
As this message closes, we are reminded in Hebrews 13:1-5 to be hospitable, to remember those in prison because we also may be mistreated as they are, to honor our marriage because God still wants a godly seed and a witness to the world. It is in these things that the world sees the love of God in us. And that love is also shown in Hebrews 13:5 by our “being content with what you have”. Then we are admonished in Hebrews 13:7 to “remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you … imitate their faith”.

And in Hebrews 13:9 there is a bit, for me, of an odd statement, “Do not be carried away by various and strange teachings … which those who participate have not benefited”. There are a lot of things that people believe and say, but not all of them have any value for your life. Don’t waste your time on those things that don’t help you.

Offer Up A Sacrifice Of Praise

Hebrews 13:10–19
It says in Hebrews 13:10 “we have an altar” but as is described in the next few lines, it is outside the camp, it is not valued by the world. But it goes on to say in Hebrews 13:14b “we seek the city that is to come”. Then in Hebrews 13:15-19 there is action for us to take:
– “offer up … the fruit of our lips that confess his name”
– “do not neglect doing good and generosity”
– “obey your leaders … so they can do this (keep watch over your souls) with joy”
– “pray for us … to conduct ourselves commendably in every way”

The Eternal Covenant

Hebrews 13:20–25
It is “the God of peace” in Hebrews 13:20 that “brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus” who will, in Hebrews 13:21 “equip you with every good thing to do his will, carrying out in us what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ”. This message concludes with “bear with my word of exhortation”, take hold of it, let it encourage you so that you rise up and fulfill all that God has planned for you.

Things Which Must Take Place

Revelation 1:1–3
This book, declares from the very beginning in Revelation 1:1 that it is about the work God is doing, and will do, through Jesus Christ. This is a testimony, just as the gospels and Acts are of the person and work of Jesus Christ. Revelation 1:3 offers a blessing to “those who hear … and observe”. It isn’t enough to just hear, we always need to incorporate what we have heard into our actions for this life.

The Alpha and the Omega

Revelation 1:4–8
Revelation 1:4-8 describes the Lord, the “All Powerful” and “Jesus Christ the faithful witness” and the “seven spirits (the churches) who are before his throne”. These are the things Jesus had started to tell his disciples in Matt 24. We are all together as Jesus said in John 17:20-26, “I made known to them your name, and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I may be in them.”

The Son of Man

Revelation 1:9–20
The description of John’s vision begins in Revelation 1:9-20. He was told in Revelation 1:11 “what you see, write in a book and send it”. God operates in this way, the revelation given because an action is needed. Then in Revelation 1:12-18 John see’s Jesus who repeats the instruction, “write the things …” but with additional description. These are “the things which are, and the things which are about to take place”. Then in Revelation 1:20 Jesus clarifies “the mystery”, “seven stars are the angels of the seven churches and the seven lamp stands are the seven churches”.
