People in the world are deceived, we often get so busy that we only have room for the work in front of us. We eat, and are warm and have a few things we have made. We know there must be more, a creator, a purpose, and our focus turns to what we have made as if it has power to save us and protect us. The Lord is looking for us to recognize him in the things of the world. They were created by him, as it says in Romans 1:19–20 because what can be known about God is evident among them, for God made it clear to them. 20 For from the creation of the world, his invisible attributes, both his eternal power and deity, are discerned clearly, being understood in the things created, so that they are without excuse”. But a deceived mind separates us from him, the Lord, creator of heaven and earth. He though, will cause righteousness to come down like rain and spring forth in the earth so that all that turn to him will be saved.
A Deceived Mind Misleads Him
Isaiah 44:9–20
How can something we have fashioned be a god to us? Yet, there have always been craftsmen that have fashioned elements into objects that somehow we hold dear and ascribe power to. Whether it is the smith who casts forms or hammers out shapes or the carpenter that shapes and joins wood, these are all the works of a man as is described in Isaiah 44:9-19. Can wearing wearing gold and silver chains and rings make a man more masculine? Can a plastic or plaster image of a person, even though they may have demonstrated a saintly Christian life, offer any protection or help for us today? Does wearing a cross make us any closer to God? I think not because God is spirit and he is always there wherever we are.
I (the Lord) Have Redeemed You!
Let Clouds Trickle With Righteousness
Isaiah 45:1–13
The Lord prophecies of a leader that will restore Israel. He will rule with righteousness because the Lord has opened the heavens in
Isaiah 45:8 Trickle, O heavens, from above, and let clouds trickle with righteousness; let the earth open so that salvation may be fruitful, and let it cause righteousness to sprout along with it. I myself, Yahweh, have created it.
There is a flow that comes when the heavens are opened and it is a flow of blessing as righteousness prevails. And we know righteousness when we find a man where “He himself shall build my city, and he shall set my exiles free, not for price or a gift,” says Yahweh of hosts” as is described in Isaiah 45:13.
Turn To Me and Be Saved
Isaiah 45:14–25
After the land of Israel was trampled under foot by foreign armies, the Lord says “the acquisition … the merchandise … shall pass over to you” in
Isaiah 45:14 Thus says Yahweh: “The acquisition of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush and the Sabeans, tall men, shall pass over to you; they shall be yours, and they shall walk behind you. They shall pass over in chains, and they shall bow down to you; they will pray to you: ‘Surely God is with you, and there is no other. Besides him there is no God.’ ”
To those that have followed after idols, the works of their own hands, the Lord says, in
Isaiah 45:22 Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth, for I am God and there is none besides me.
